You made a point I had never thought of. The school of Magi were probably Hebrews, and since Nebuchadnezzar had put to death all his own "wise men", the ones left would have been the Hebrews! Over the next 600 years, even though they may not have been ethnically all Hebrew (yet some may have since there were no doubt those Hebrews who stayed in Persia), they were surely educated in the Hebrew fashion.
