The Quickest Way To Color In Procreate (HINT- It’s Not the Paint Bucket Fill!)

In today’s video, I am going to show you how to quickly color complex line art in Procreate using the recolor tool! ***UPDATE- the Procreate 5X update moved the recolor feature covered in this video...now when you drag and drop your first fill area, a button will appear above your canvas labeled "Continue Filling With Recolor." WHAT I just learned about the reference thing omg I thought I was good at procreate but I always used to outline each section and drop fill it underneath the lineart layer omg this will save me so much time thank you 😭

This is so helpful. Also I didn’t even know I can hold my finger on the canvas to pick a colour on the layer, that’s also a time saver!

Not sure if it's a new button since this video is a bit old, but after using color drop, there's a button that says "continue filling with recolor." Additionally, a much faster way to color this picture in particular would have been, after filling in the red, to select outside the lineart, invert the selection, and fill the selection on a new layer with blue underneath the red.

Sadly, the fastest and cleanest way for me to color in procreate since I do not use a sharp-edged lineart brush is to export it and open it in CSP to use their vastly superior fill and select tools. The color drop and wand select tool in procreate leaves an ugly feather, doesn't close gaps, doesn't let you expand the fill, doesn't let you refer multiple layers at once.. It's very frustrating.

Do you do anything about the tiny white border of separation between the color drop and the outline? It always bugs me to see it when I zoom and always wonder if it affects the printing process or if it shows on print.
