Hospital Collapse - Earthquake Simulation (realistic physics)

No building can withstand a peak ground acceleration of 2 g. The earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6th, 2023 produced similar ground motions in a place close to where the fault ruptured. Let's see what happens in this simulation.

This earthquake collapse simulation was created in Blender 3D with the Bullet Constraints Builder (BCB - a structural simulation code made by @KaiKostack ) which extends Blender´s basic physics functionality with a sophisticated toolset to simulate load dynamics in building structures.

any building with people inside collapsing during a strong earthquake is heart rending
but a hospital collapsing with people who are already ill or injured inside, is just gut wrenching 😵‍💫
my heart goes out to all the people of Turkey. who lost their loved ones, homes, businesses
or were injured in the catastrophic quake 😮‍💨

This would be an older building in Turkey. I've heard from structural engineers that many newer buildings do not experience column failure like this.

The highest Intensities (XI-XII) have been observed along the Rupture in Hatay Province.

"The geometric complexity at the south was found to result in bursts of supershear, dynamic triggering, stress shadowing, and complex wave field that might have contributed to the intense shaking at Hatay."

The Intensity along the first Fault that ruptured, stretching roughly from Kuzoluk to Söğütlü was lower, though still IX.

do buildig really shakes and bends this much ? because i don't remember it was this powerful, i remember it was faster than this sim .. the ground was shaking really fast, but shaking in smaller radius, like its going right left front and back in a small space but really fast
