It's honestly humbling to witness how far you'll go to end this madness. *Adriannotch* The compassion you have for the victims, and the people you know the scammers could be, and how you want everyone to be free of this sickening behaviour. Wow that's a strong statement! What makes you think that negotiating the sample price is amateurish? From my own experience of dealing with different manufacturers over 10+ years, I think it's perfectly fine to do that and we did develop a good relationship with most of them. Some manufacturers open an higher price on their sample cost and actually expect a negotiation. This was coming out from the mouth of a sales rep after we became really close friend.

I bought many single items from Alibaba and had minor problems with some sellers. However, on a recent transaction, after paying for an item, the seller completely stopped responding after many requests for updates. Finally, I had no choice but to open a dispute for a refund. After submitting my evidence showing how the seller stopped responding with no updates, nor shipping status, nor any explanation .... I was STILL taken on a ride for another 2 months before I finally received my refund.

Was trying to buy a mini-excavator. Contrary to what you're saying the price you may pay at the end may be cheaper, they have the excavators listed at very unrealistically prices.
When you contact them, they tell you that's not a real price. Then hit you with a huge price.

This information was somewhat useful. You will still get burned from suppliers. I am talking from personal experience! We need to make purchases from American or European supply chains.

The way to deal with a company that you might find yourself getting scammed on, happens to be with not dealing with them at all.

The only thing that stopped me from importing goods is the complexity of the customs and epa requirements. Some suppliers advertise epa certified but epa says a lot of those are not due to some minor changes in the product. Maybe it is smoother with non gasoline powered stuff

Personally I think you should start a service vetting suppliers and managing purchases from US buyers. I'd pay you.

In addition if trade assurance dose not side with you contact you credit card company and show them you evidence and they will credit back you.

Working the site is easy for me what I need to know is 1. How to know possible scammer accounts
2. How to get protection because most suppliers you pay before you get the product. I am afraid of paying and not getting the product ☹️
