With that, you can do things like remove that recommended section from start menu. Which otherwise stays there even if you turn of recommendation.

difference in home and pro is that Pro allows for Hyper V and virtual machines...windows home does not have Hyper V technology

for me with Windows 10 or 11, only viable option is going with pro version, because of Group policy editor.
reason why i need it, is so i can set windows update to only notify me about new updates and not to download and install them without me saying so.

i do usually install those updates within the same day or at worst day or two later, but with this approach i have never have my computer restart on me without my permission.
as windows 10/11 home do not have group policy editor, you would have to do that same thing through regedit if possible.

I have both editions.... Surface is home and desktop is pro.. tbh I think the Home edition allows the user a better experience to discover and complete tasks, web browsing and hobby related projects without the influence of Office 365 and Microsoft's products preloaded for enterprise and commercial business. Just as a business would remove the majority of the pre-installed bloatware on a home edition, so would the average consumer ie: not removing skype but BI Dashboard. Save the money and put it towards a new app or accessory!

What is the deal with Windows 11 installation? In the product description it says you have to have a NEW computer and can't have an already installed OS. What's that about?

My computer is about to die. I still have windows 8.1. Yes I should have been expecting it. Do a lot of photo editing. I mean a lot. We’re doing our genealogy so I’ve been repairing hundreds of family photos. I’m narrowed it down to Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro. I mainly work on my iPad day to day but when I use the laptop like I said it’s really for editing photos, printing lots of photos. And making dvd & case labels. So I have Photo Shop, Roots Magic (genealogy & tree) & Microsoft Office among many other programs loaded. I haven’t had to buy a new computer in many years so I want to make the right decision. Thanks so much.
