THIS is the kind of sound advice you can gave give on YouTube when you 're NOT linking to affiliate amazon links! Fantastic advice with regard to beginners picking up a used 5D Mark II. It has been the number one camera I tell noobs to get if they are serious about working in photography. If I had this kind of access to this level of photography twenty years ago... my career growth would have been been fast-tracked by a factor of five.

All good advice Scott.
I would add that for people starting out renting is a great way to both learn what works for ones own particular style and needs and also to actually save a lot of money in the long run. When you rent you only have the gear for the shoot and not just sitting on the shelf -not paying for its self. Many many good camera stores will let your apply the rental fee towards the purchase so it can be a cool way to try before you buy. Or... don't buy and cry!
Keep going Scott! Each one is getting better and better.

Great, I love seeing a photographer’s progression through gear. I agree on only buying full frame lenses. Even vintage primes can provide better and cheaper results the modern budget zooms.
I was considering getting the 6D, but I might revisit the 5Dii for studio work.
