GTA 4 has car damages when we fall on the car from a height.. sometimes it won't affect but sometimes, it does damage the car just like in GTA 5.
Even in the cutscene of *Deconstruction for Beginners* mission in GTA 4, you can see the sniper man falling on a Cavalcade SUV Car from a Crane to his death and the car gets damage too....
