One way you can sort of tell how old that holed wheat penny is is to check for the V.D.B initials just under Lincoln's shoulder. The mint started adding his initials on pennies there starting in 1918. If it has it then it's 1918 or newer. If not then it was minted from 1909 -1917. Yeah, whoever did that kind of makes me mad too.

The old cent with the hole in it has to be between 1909 to 1917 if there is no VDB on the OBV or REV. VDB was restored to the coin but on the obverse in 1918.

I almost thought I had a 2000-D wide AM. There was a little bit of space, but no, far FG.

I've been doing better with Loomis boxes than with any other boxes. NF string & son have been quite bad for me. With the last penny box from NF string & son, I only scored 2 wheat pennies in the whole box compared on average to about 9 - 12 wheat pennies with Loomis. When I go to the bank, I always ask and try to get Loomis boxes. GREAT VIDEO DAVE!

What do you do with the pennies that you don’t use?

those were some really decent boxs here in chicago I was getting up to 60 wheats per box during covid. now 10 or so is average, I like your channel and I know you are from Illinois also.so we are getting similar mixes. One thing, 1954 and 55 are hard to find how about you?

Don’t let that hole punch bug ya Big Guy

I got a question - now Diggin’ Dave himself is prolly waayyy too busy to answer it so if anyone sees it in the comments section and wants to take a moment to help an old dude out… so when you’re done looking at all those pennies do you have to put them back into new rolls or can you just take them to the bank and stick them in a machine??
