Since for whatever reason some people are stating that this is not a pure Titan... A pure Titan is a human who has been transformed into a Titan using spinal fluid, which is exactly how Rod Reiss transformed, even though he licked it and it wasn't injected. The Titan can still be abnormal as well. On just about every site including the AoT wiki, he is called the largest of all pure titans.

Its a nice touch that rods titan could not stand up on its own considering that right before he transforms, He had broke his back. Thats why his titan was crawling instead of walking aswell and why it needed the support of the wall to stand straight.

This is probably the first real time civilians have seen the Scouts in action.

Before, they would see the high mortality rate and nothing accomplished after each expedition. They never really saw what they were truly fighting against and how effective they really are.

I think this helped earn them favor with the public and their reclamation campaign for Shiganshina.
