As long as it’s a 2 stroke that’s all that matters

Brass is best for a two stroke. Always. Two stroke efi isn’t sorted yet. If you want the power, response and bark you’re going to need a carb. Keihin or a mik. Stay away from carbs that run a metering rod. Especially if you’re looking for peak power out of your bike.

I’be only ridden carb’d 2 stroke dirt bikes and they can be great. I know it’s likely a little different but my Stihl MS500i chainsaw (fuel injected) blows all my other chainsaws away (all using carbs) for power delivery everywhere and throttle response. I’d expect on a dirt bike that matters more than on a chainsaw, so I feel like they should be able to get EFI to work better but 🤷‍♂️

I had the 23 300sx w8th the tbi and electric power valve. Loved it but truth be told it was to smooth and you were deep into entry before you realise how fast you came out. Personally the 2016 150sx setup as that as a different carb was the most fun

On a 2 stroke a carb will shift just fine like normal. The EFI fuel injected are faster and smoother to shift but the throttle bodies are complicated.

So did you do it how he did? Bog 4th? I would have done it how you did, click 4 th off the lip. But that’s scary for most

Is a LECTRON CARB a better choice. I've heard they really improve the bottom to mid response on 125s.

I haven’t rode a tbi yet, but I’ve rode 10 different tpi bikes. My 22 KTM 250sx carby is waaay better.

Yamaha was right to stay with a Carb. If they sign a contract with Lectron that be sweet. Or you could just buy one yourself
