I’m 36 years old. If I could go back to high school with the brain I have now I would probably have much better marks and I would definitely find classes more interesting.

I love the idea of being an organic chemist, I am just not sure if there is a career in it

I am an Iraqi and you are true for all you mentioned, but you forgot to mention how the scientist jabber learned all of that chemistry
He didn’t learn alone
The Imam Jaafar son of Muhammad al-Baqir, son of the Prophet Muhammad (may God’s prayers be upon them) learned him all of that
And thank you for mentioning our civilization

Geber made significant contributions to chemistry and is known as the the " Father of Arab Chemistry". But the one known as the father of chemistry is Antoine Lavoisier, from France.

Sad to see that when they talk about jabir ibn hayyan they don’t mention his teacher Imam Jaffare Sadiq

For people who do not know, the Islamic golden age was one of the most beneficial time period for science. Of course others such as the a Indian golden age and the research done by the greeks, Romans, Chinese and many more are also important.

Though some people are doing their best to make us think Muslims didn't contribute to anything in this world. Shame on those people. Modern days Muslims must look up to those brave Muslims and be proud of the heritage they left.

"There is a debate as to whether he was an Arab from Kufa who lived in Khurasan or a Persian from Khorasan who later went to Kufa or whether he was, as some have suggested, of Syrian origin and later lived in Persia and Iraq"."
