Don’t use EV’s for long trips. There’s a concept of “Use the right tool for the job.” An EV is not the right tool for that job.

If everyone was aware that it takes the same amount of time if not faster to charge to 80% as it does to charge from 80% to full. Get to 80% and get going. Also dont complain about it, like you didnt know this was gonna be an issue.

Your Tesla would tell you ahead of time that the charging station was full and redirect you somewhere else. You wouldn't be waiting.

I have some big diesel tier 4 generators 35, 50, 70 kw. I could make some mobile charging stations. Charge per amount of diesel burned to charge your environmentally friendly car. Plus service fee and convenience fee and connection fee. Fuel surcharge for my truck to tow the generator. Oh and insurance.

Hybrids are the right move, and no one makes them better than Toyota/Lexus. But if you want an electric motor & transmission experience but don't want range anxiety then get a range extender model, like the Nissan e-Power versions, I've had Rouge in e-Power (also comes in X-Trail) and its pretty good, its got a 3-cylinder generator upfront charging the EV battery pack that feeds the electric motor. But Rav4 has better MPG than e-Power.

Just imagine what it was like when the car 1st came out ? There weren't a lot of gas stations, and they weren't too reliable, while you were going through that. People would ride by laughing, saying, "Get a horse. Or, oh, these cars are just a fad, they'll never replace a good horse

Like when we cut down trees and plant X more, similar should apply to EVs. Every one sold, X amount should go towards new chargers. So many evs going out but no places to charge.

Going on a trip on an EV without an electric generator is silly.

With an EV instead of a hybrid you would have a much larger electric range and could simply keep driving and charge somewhere else. My car has 620km range and Tesla has Superchargers about every 100km here.

Yeah. I don’t know about you but up here in Canada its colder. I believe that does something to electric vehicles, so we went with gas.

I rented an electric car on vacation last summer just to try it out. If you don’t have a charger in your garage they are so inconvenient. We wasted at least an hour a day charging it. I would not buy an electric car after that experience.

Besides the long term issues electric cars give the world, they should have a plan for things like this, where share plugs are available and everyone charges a little at once, this can allow some users to move on to a charge location on the way and the overall wait will decrease, issue is “where do you put the meter” wah wah
