single diode rectifier, low power resistor and 25V capacitor quick guide how to set house on fire

I’m an electronic engineer, don’t do it at home, i’ll explain why. With the circuit in the figure, the diode is conducting for 1/4 * period of the AC wave, but it must provide high power to the capacitor in order to be able to keep the LEDs on for an entire period of the sine wave. Before doing these things you should check the maximum power the diode can withstand, besides all the power is dissipated on the single diode so it will fail sooner. Best case the diode will stop working without damaging anything, but it could happen that the high temperature of the diode could start a fire.

This is extremely dangerous. Never do this💀🪦

Single diode Rectifier 👎
Full Bridge Rectifier 👍

This is a no-brainer: a silly and dangerous LED strip. It is surely not advisable for amateur electronics hobbyists.

Bunun ustune seffaf plastik silindir ile korumaya alinablir.birde direnc arttirilirsa daha kullanisli hale gelir.birde sarjli pillede kesintisiz olur ve heryerde

REMEMBER !!! This is direct voltage... it's better to add a clear hose for safety...

Keep in mind that this led strip isn't intended to work like that. It's not insulated, and depending on how you plug it in the mains, all you can have between you and the line could be just a diode. So touching the led strip as the thing is plugged can shock you. Also, this isn't really a very efficient way of powering a led strips. Most of the power is going to be wasted on the resistor. It's going to be heating up with around 1.5W due to this being powered by a half wave rectified dc. The led strip appears to be low voltage as there are 12 leds and if it was a series one this would exceed the 25V rating of the capacitor. So that's even less efficient. This circuit would produce lots more light if it was powering a series string of leds.

100uf 25v rated capacitors is used for 230vac, the moment the switch turns on the capacitor will pop. A 400V rated capacitor is used at the rectified output of 325Vdc

Dont do that! 1. It's hot by power loss at R limit current. 2. Non isolated AC source. 3. It's aluminium pcb. Leaking current cause quite low impedance to ground

LED stripe should go into the transparent plastic tube, at least.

Лучше мост, мерцание намного меньше и в ленте около 100 светодиодов, чтобы как раз выпрямленного сетевого напряжения хватало

It's a fairly simple circuit.
However, there is no protection circuit, so it can cause a fire.

При таком подключении очень высокий коэффициент пульсации, полчаса с таким освещением и головная боль обеспечена + зрение сильно садится.

It doesnt go all the way off when he hits the switch. Thats not concerning at all.
