Hopefully this helps someone out there!

Note: Don’t completely fold the bend!! You might break the connection

Also only fold on the “cut” line

Of course I see this after I install mine 💀💀💀

I think I will follow the directions that came with the product, thanks.

No. You buy the right angle connectors for LED strips, cut the strip, plug each cut end into the connector, and make a super clean, flat connection.

My directions literally has a picture saying not to do this lmaoooo

Let me tell something if you bend like that you can destroy the connection in the led strip and your RGB will be paralyzed

My nanoleaf 4d comes with some corner things that really helps this process and eliminates the risk of cutting the electricity to the rest of the band. Really useful plastic

Properly you need to install it on an aluminium profile for cooling and sticky-ness, also, bending the strip puts a lot of mechanical and electrical stress in the bending point, so expect it to fall of soon and get 30-50% less bright.

They make 90* corner crimps for this purpose. It requires one cut and you’re basically done, they don’t cost much either. Source, I’m an electrician and do these often.

There's usually a line where you can cut the strip and solder some short wire lengths if you want to make sharp bends.

Thank you so much man! I just installed my first led lights, I had them for a while but never got the chance to install them. This video helped me so much! I was wondering how to fold them properly. Thank you so much. 👊

Protect this dude at all costs

Also - the second I found this out with my Govee lights, i kicked the wall and made a hole. Currently patching the wall.

How to "properly" fold your LED strip is you *don't*
This is a neat ck that works but can risk destroying the internal copper traces.

The **proper** way to do this is to cut the strip and use either a corner joiner or scratch away some of the top coating, apply flux, and solder short jumper cables that do the bending instead, hopefully with some strain relief or secured to the desk

I tried this and my led snapt in half so don't try this

Perfect fold! Also cutting and getting the 90* angel connectors works great as well (assuming the RGB you have is cuttable)

I might of already done mine and deleted the R in RGB so now i have GB lights on half my strip.😅

You don't fold you, use a T connector
