NASA’s SDO Watches a Sunspot Turn Toward Earth

An active region on the sun — an area of intense and complex magnetic fields — has rotated into view on the sun and seems to be growing rather quickly in this video captured by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory between July 5-11, 2017. Such sunspots are a common occurrence on the sun, but are less frequent as we head toward solar minimum, which is the period of low solar activity during its regular approximately 11-year cycle. This sunspot is the first to appear after the sun was spotless for two days, and it is the only sunspot group at this moment. Like freckles on the face of the sun, they appear to be small features, but size is relative: The dark core of this sunspot is actually larger than Earth.

looks more like a fleet of ships passing between us and the sun. they seem to be silhouettes. they dont follow the suns curved surface of the sphere, they follow a straight line.

how come I have observed the sun spot rotating clockwise? My friend in Brazil has captured the same spot, but it rotates counter clockwise. NASA, fool me once, shame on you!

Something hit the sun, and it left a spot. Or it can be some new kind of life.

Is this actual footage of the sun or a digital representation of it and the spot, in comparison to the earth? If so it seems strange to me that its possible like that being that its so tiny in relation to the sun. Meaning, i would imagine it to look more like shading lighter further out on a bigger radius toward the center where it would be dark like it is in the sun is so hot....could it be a obstruction giving the appearance of a spot like this? it just seems illogical perhaps i don't understand the corona or im a noob if this is a stupid question if its a good question im an astrophysicist

I have a telescope with a sun filter, when can I see this spot (lots of clouds today so I can't look right now)?

how are they recording this?

shouldn't the sun damage cameras?

I mean Voyager had this problem for 9 years so....
