It's not painful, but it is really annoying, and I can't open my jaw all the way without it catching.
EDIT 1: i stopped pushing on my jaw to turn my head to pop my neck, and it helped.
EDIT 2:I went to the orthodontist to get braces, and I found out my jaw was slightly slanted. One side is shorter than the other.
Edit 3: The jaw popping was due to asymmetry in my jaw as well as my teeth. I had a cross bite and a crooked face, but as I've begun to pay more attention to my appearance, I've also been fixing these issues. Facial asymmetry is left up to genetics and your physical environment. Some things you just can't help, but if it's something small like a puffy cheek, crooked nose, or an off set eyebrow, it's a fairly simple fix. If you find that one cheek is puffer than the other, sleep on the opposite side until you see that your face is almost symmetrical and then switch to sleeping on your back. Same thing with a crooked nose. Gravity plays a big part in how you look. I also had a lopsided eyebrow, and I've noticed that going away, too. It's hard the first few nights, especially if you're used to sleeping on one side in particular, but it gets easier as the weeks go on. Mind you, this can take weeks or even months, but if you don't start now, it can only get worse. You can also use makeup or a guasha to help with asymmetry. Look up youtube tutorials specifically for that. Mewing is also extremely helpful.

I have this, mine literally hurts to eat. When I eat my jaw shifts then locks and forcibly smashed down as I’m chewing. It’s the worst. I see an orthodontist soon again as I was getting injections, but no longer do which is why the issue is happening again. I just want to be able to eat normal again

The huge problem with this is, it actually affects my hearing and I am spiraling in to depression because I'm
a musician that LOVE music and now I couldn't hear well on the tmj side. I'm sad.

One time I moved my jaw a certain way cuz the popping frustrated me and my jaw couldn't open all the way anymore. I was so scared. I could only open it like half an inch. I pressed on the side of my cheek where I heard the popping, opened my mouth and it opened all the way. But the moment that I'm not pressing the point anymore it goes back to being unable to open wide. But I fixed it somehow by aggressively pressing the point. The popping still bothers me tho.

For me it's on one side it pops when I open my jaw. And if I try to open my jaw shifted over to that side it gets stuck and either won't open all the way or gets a big uncomfortable click.

I have just the popping sound for the majority of time, however, occasionally there will be a loud a slightly painful pop. What should I do?
