2025 Honda Pilot VS 2025 Acura MDX [Homer Simpson's Review]

The all-new 2025 Honda Pilot is a cheaper and more popular three-row SUV than the 2025 Acura MDX. So is it worth buying the more expensive, sporty, and premium MDX than the off-road capable and rugged Pilot that has been one of the best-selling SUVs for years?

While the are both family SUV, the Pilot rivals other cars like the Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe, Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Chevrolet Traverse, Chevrolet Tahoe, Nissan Pathfinder, Ford Explorer, Ford Expedition, GMC Acadia, Toyota Highlander, Toyota Sequoia and Toyota 4Runner. However, the MDX rivals the Mazda CX-90, Audi Q7, Bmw X5, Infiniti QX60, Volvo XC90, Genesis GV80 and Cadillac XT6. As mentioned, the MDX has more standard and available technology, safety and premium features but with a higher price. It even has a Type S trim that can rival any sport SUV from Bmw M power or Mercedes Benz Amg. While the trendy and best selling Pilot has the trailsport trim that comes with offroad suspension, skid plates and tires, which is for outdoorsy consumers who would like a more off-road capable car that is built for overlanding, crawling, rallying and camping that can rival Ford Raptor and Toyota TRD Pro. So the Pilot is the option if you want a modified off-roader. Don't worry, both the Pilot and MDX can still come with AWD so it can drive in the snow, sand, gravel, rocks, dirt and mud. Unfortunately, both cars don't have an available hybrid powertrain to save more gas. This review will take a look at the Honda Pilot's Sport, EX-L, Trailsport, Touring and Elite trims as well as A-Spec, Technology, Advance and Type S trims of the MDX. These cars didn't get any new update from the 2024 Honda Pilot or the 2024 Acura MDX but the MDX still may be better than the Acura TLX, Acura ILX and Acura RDX. Same goes with the Pilot as it's more trending than the Honda, Accord, Honda Ridgeline, Honda Civic, Honda CRV and Honda Passport.
