Unreal Engine 5 is a state-of-the-art engine and editor with photorealistic rendering, dynamic physics and effects, lifelike animation, robust data translation, and much more—on an open, extensible platform that won't tie you down.

The Backrooms is an urban legend and creepy pasta that tells the tale of an endless maze of randomly generated office rooms. It is characterized by the smell of wet carpet, walls with a monochromatic tone of yellow, and buzzing fluorescent lights.

The best thing about Fancy is that not only does he work so hard to make really good updates, but he also cares about how the community will enjoy them

In the boiler room it is hard to tell the objective besides escape. You are given the thermometer and then it feels like there isn't really a direction to go. It'd be great to have some updated instructions either on the walls or around the map so it is a little bit easier to figure out. My friends and I love this game so excited to see more!

I can't say the audio isn't good already. But I will say, that since the backrooms is a heavily atmospheric concept. A really detailed focus on the sound of echoes in the distance, electrical sounds from lights, random water drips, and flowy wind noises is going to sell me.

I can't express how grateful I am to have such a devoted developer working on one of my favorite types of games. You are a rare sight.

Bone thief tips. Bone thieves teleport your bones to another dimension by looking at you, and they slurp up your body, not the bones. These entities probably will make the leaning mechanic more important for survival. And you could make the bone thief stay still and look down a hallway, but after a while, they will turn and look down another hallway, making it a little easier for moving through levels. But for fun, you should make a level with all the bones of other people and fill it with bone thieves. Some more recommendations are adding entity Aiden he a friendly entity and add level heaven so Some people can have a checkpoint. The last level in the game should be level 3999 because it's the only conformed escape from the backrooms.

I think making the entities a bit less frequent and adding some more backrooms themed things into the levels such as random weird music or other sounds aswell as weird objects would make the game feel a lot more liminal but it'll still keep the overall fun thing since you dont have to run around as much as in other backrooms games

The fact Fancy has been working on this for like a year and still makes updates is admirable

The mimics currently aren't much of a threat as they act very different to your teammates and your team can just say that its not them.
Improvement A: When you spawn in to the garage levels with the mimics you are separated from your teammates and all of the mimics start in the hazmat suit form. They also don't transform and attack until they are much closer.
Improvement B: The mimics appear in level fun+ and all of the other levels with the party-poopers. They can make themself look like the party poopers and lead you into isolated rooms before killing you.
Improvement C: 2 types of mimics, one in the garage level that follows Improvement A and one in the fun+ that follows improvement B.

Advice for future updates or old ones. Puzzles are fun and make the game more interesting. Also having an entity simply chase you makes the game boring unless there is a way to escape the entity without running. For example, entities that can only hear you and not see you so you have to be quiet etc. Horror games that have a monster chase you while you have to complete a task are boring. Hope that helps!

Suggestion & improvement: 1. Gather a team that can find content and help you with the models and map design. 2. Make more explore-levels. They don't need that many entites but they need good level design(example:Darkend Suburbs, it was very fun to explore). 3. Options. We can take an explore-level for example. You arrive at (for example) a subway and then explore through the subway tunnles, maybe running away from some entites. Then you find a station and some stairs that lead to the city but there is also a train, Do you get on the train or walk up the stairs? Which option you take will effect the game differently. 4. Procedural generation. Small maps like level 0 can have procedural generation so that every playthrough feel unique. 4.5. If you can't do procedural generation then you can make your team change the level into a few variants which are unique and that will do the trick. 5. Rapidly changing levels. Example: You find yourself in level 4 and you are exploring the level when you come across the exit that leads to the outside. The thunder and rain stopped and when you get outside you see that it is snowing and you find yourself in an urban area. Then you can seek shelter in a house or continue walking down the road. If you walked into the home then you would find yourself in a sunny neighbourhood when you exited. 6. Expand upon the levels. The current levels really only allow you to walk the right way so it would be better if there were atleast a few ways to get to the exit of the level. 7. Level minigames/challange. On level fun you can make an area which has a (for example) hide and seek minigame where you need to quickly hide from the entites to unlock the next area of the map. (like the switches in level 3) That were all my suggestion, keep making the game better 👍

a few really specific suggestions that i have for the game.

1.-Make levels have multiple exits, and that this exits take you to different levels, breaking a little the linearity of the experience Example: in level 0 when you fall through pitfalls, what if instead of another exit to level 1, you get to a sublevel?

2.-Pipe dreams:I really think pipe dreams should be improved, right now it's just a straight path that takes almost 2 minutes to get across, but I believe that if you make it a little bit more laberynthic, with paths and dead ends, would be more fun, stil short since its more of a transition level

3.-Poolrooms:I think the level its pretty great overall, but i would really like so that the dark tiles zone is accessible, it looks really cool, and it's a shame that we can not explore it, I would suggest making it an optional section that can get you to another level instead of level run!, maybe a mechanic here could be that the water stars rising the more time you spend in the dark tiles, also another ideas is that your sanity decreases faster, in contrast to the normal poolrooms

4.-Make Kitty house accessible through an item, maybe a hello kitty plushie that you get in the suburbs if kitty house is still on the plan.

5.-make the thing on level 7 an actual entity, right now its just a cutscene but level thalassophobia really needs a threat to keep you alert, because right now it's a prety relaxed level, at least the part on the surface

Please add multiple endings, you can play the game in many ways and fall into so many variable types of levels rather than simply being a linear game like how the Backrooms lore is. There’s multiple exits and entrances to each level and many ways to properly conclude the game without it being restricted to only one.

Also I’d love to see Entity 666 or pinhead be part of the game.

Four genuine bugs I've noticed: I recall being able to hear your teammates after you've died in previous versions of the game, but that doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. Also, sometimes, if you are spectating a player as they die, you will be stuck spectating them until you revive or restart the game. Third, the monster's ai on the first level seems to bug out after killing a player, and they get stuck and won't move. Fourth, for some specific objects, such as the computers in the hub, you cannot talk to your teammates when interacting with them. And one more thing: once you move to a loading zone to get to a new area, you're stuck there until your teammates come into the zone with you. It would be better if you switched to spectating them instead. Or, you could even have it so that different players can move through the levels individually, but I don't know how viable that is.

Another thing I just remembered is that for some reason at random times, voice chat will bug out and make a person's voice glitch. My guess is this happens when you are at a certain distance from them, but i don't really know.

A big suggestion from me is to change how the level with the moths work, as the thermometer is basically useless. I suggest that you change it so that the temperature changes the closer you are to the exit.

Last thing, I promise; I think you should also change a few of the jumpscares, for both the player being jumpscared, and the players watching, because some of them look super goofy. Oftentimes, the monster just moves towards the player, and then they explode.

This game is really unique. I finished it 2 times (almost 3) and I really really love the gameplay but I feel like there have to be more peaceful rooms where you explore or more ways to escape monsters such as giving us items that can stun them or making entities slower (on selected levels because on some they are already slow enough). Maybe (later when you add more levels) try adding an option in multiplayer where you don't spawn in the same room as your teammates and later you meet them one by one (but you can meet them in safe zones or hub). Overall, there are some bugs but I didn't notice many of them or gamebreaking ones that affected my gameplay so I think the game is doing really good and one really important thing for me is that it's not a copy of any other game and it's not similar to any horror game that i played. Developers nowadays are struggling to keep the game running because they have no good new ideas. Also, I like how you show us the development progress and how you interact with your community. Keep it going.
