You should apply glue in a zig zag pattern. If you apply two lines parallel to each other you have a situation where air can become trapped between the two and the pressure will prevent the two pieces of wood from coming into contact. This is especially important for wide applications.

I looked through the videos and a lot of the comments and it's probably right in front of me somewhere, but what size were the construction screws you used on the 2x4's? I heard the length but not the diameter like no. 10 maybe?

As a structural engineer I believe your sistering member should extend past the cracked section to bypass the weak section. your repair won’t be good enough if you’re new members are short. I also would stagger the screws top and bottom.

This might seem like a rookie question, but as a first time home owner, what type of contractor would I get to have this done?

what is the average cost to get this done to a house?

The conclusion is that constructional mistake is the first placement of the thickness of the beams of the roof. Really you make very good work, even better if the sistering trusses you used should cover entire the length of the old trusses.

Great videos. Why not put screws near the ends of the web members?

Very nice clean work and good video. I would have alternated my screws. Two from one side, two from the other. Probably wouldn't matter much but I suspect the alternating screw heads (side to side zig zag) would make it a little stronger.

Totally agree with comments about to much talking and alot more action. Move it, Move it, Move it, per Sergeant Carter...

Should have nailed it. Screws don’t have as much sheer strength
