The problem with trauma is that if you identify too strongly with it, it will become a scapegoat for you. A crutch. It will become the “reason” that you are the way that you are, and you will never gain control over it.

There are murderers on death row right now that point to childhood trauma as the reason they are the way they are, now suddenly the perpetrator sees themselves as the victim.

Your trauma is real, it’s there, but do not make the mistake of allowing it to define who you are. It’s simply a form of adversity that you overcome and become stronger for it.
