Wondering what happens when you ask your ISP to upgrade from FTTC, FTTN or whatever it is you have to FTTP? I documented the entire process, in Australia, so you can experience what it's like when you ask your ISP to upgrade your NBN.

After 5 weeks am still workign through with NBN. Have had 3 tech visits, plus 2 no shows, yes they dont seem accountable and will sometimes not turn up, not even a phone call, and they just reschedule automatically for 1 or 2 weeks later. I think you did pretty well to get it installed where you asked, even though it was your second preference. My guy would only install back to back, i.e. where the point connects to the outside of the house and said for my other choices, including downstairs only 5 metres away that we would need to get our own conduit installed first. The guys was so bad I had to help him line up where to drill and help him feed the cable through. He didnt have a camera to see inside the wall. So far now waiting one more week after a no show yesterday and hopefully will be finished. Mine was not as easy as yours, at least so far, and overall have found NBN to be 1 star out of 5 for service.

They bend the hell of that fiber on the inside unit

so when do you put in the Fibre from the pit back to the Node ???? FTTN or 'Fibre to the Node' has a fibre running to a mini-exchange or node near your premises, which is then connected from that point to your property through traditional copper line

I applied for the free upgrade 3 months ago. I've heard nothing. Still waiting.

Thanks for your reply, my question is FTTN means from the node (which is a long way away} to my home is the old copper cable, you come and put fibre from the pit out side my home into the house, that leaves from the pit back to the node is still copper, which could be hundreds of metres of cable needs replacing do you do that, if not when and how and who does that job? thank you in advance Guys

HI Ting family I want FTTP box in my study but NBN guy out here at port Stephens said to much trouble mate I will only put it on your lounge wall which I don't want, can I get some one to run the optic cable in the roof from the lounge to the study and then have the NBN guy connect it up, can I do it myself? would you do it ? some one told me NBN changed rules now will not go in the roof or under the house is that true? also if we do the cable our selves the NBN will not use it, wish we had you out here mate

"we cannot bend fibre"
..has a pretty tight s-bend in conduit on outside wall lol

translation: we don't want to go above 4th rung of ladder.

They don't tell you ANYTHING about what's going to happen.
