A simple implementation of normal mapping. As normal mapping greatly increases the quality of an object, I decided to add a second model without normal mapping to show how great the effects really are.
Normal mapping takes the various intricacies regarding the depth of the different meshes of an object and alters the way in which light is reflected off it. The simple result of this is enhanced realism of the object.
