USING SCROLL WHEEL FOR TIMELINE! [DaVinci Resolve 18.1.1]

It took me forever to figure out this trick with the new update, but here you go! This is a how to step by step of how to enable your scroll wheel for your timeline in order to make editing faster! Note: you can also hold Ctrl and scroll to achieve the same thing if you'd rather keep the scroll wheel for your audio/video tracks though dragging with middle mouse pressed does this with more precision.

Helpful. but not exactly what I was looking for. I need to scrub the video with my mouse, I hate using the red scrubber line, I need to be able to hover my mouse over the video on the timeline backwards and forwards and it plays so i can find a specific area in a video. Its something I used in Final Cut and it's essential to my workflow. Please tell me there's an equivalent in resolve! Thank you!

Alternatively, you can keep the 2D timeline scrolling checked and just hold CTRL to scroll through the timeline.
