Before the Metric System - remake with better audio

As we all know, the metric system, currently used throughout the world, came to being during the French Revolution, but what preceded it, and is it even still relevant today?

I'm still playing around with the audio to get it exactly right for my upcoming new videos, but this is already a massive improvement, so I decided to redo this video.
