That's the problem with Western exchange students. They apply for the GKS full scholarship just to fool around, while others who really need that scholarship dont get it. If you want to go to korea just to party, then travel. Dont steal other peoples opportunities in actually wanting to study.

Not being invested enough to study and wasting an opportunity to learn is one thing. But not understanding the reach of social media and clearly not entertaining any concept of the possible consequences and outcomes, for themselves and others, that they have exposed themselves to here, is another.
A whole other world of pain, that they are apparently unaware of, is awaiting them and about to be revealed to them.
There will be more tears.

When I was exchange student in Korea, the teachers always gave us the exams' answer, the exams were from the practices in the textbooks.
And our teachers were tried all they can let all of us passed, bc any of us not passed they have to write a very long report explain why this student failed.
We had a guy rarely showed up for the classes, at the end he got 90 for over all average.
The whole class, only 2 students really studying they got 1st and 2nd place, and I got the 3rd, it came with reward and piece of paper and ceremony.
LOL I think this is not uncommon for exchange students.

I was an exchange student in South Korea quite some time ago now, and it wasn't difficult but I did study quite a bit... I feel like it really depends on your personality and how serious you are about your studies? Cause I know many people skipped classes to travel for example, when I never dared to ^^'

I studied abroad at Yonsei in 2012, but i took all English business courses and this was not the treatment I got.. i don’t know if it changed, but back then only 2-3 foreigners were allowed in the English business classes and usually it was filled so quickly, and then while in the class it was just a normal Yonsei class.. in fact, I got penalized for being absent too much because they had rules like any hr you you miss after 3hrs worth of lecture missed you would lose a gp average.. like 4hrs missed you at a-, 5hrs missed you at b, 6hrs missed you at b-, etc… there was 3 hrs worth of class a week.. anyway I ended up with my first B grade in university because of this, before studying in Korea my gpa was perfect… i don’t remember any class I took at Yonsei being easy, but even so everyone partied a lot, even if it meant another day I would have to pull an all-nighter to write a paper or study for an exam.
