How to match up data with different dates and times in excel

How to combine two different sets of data when one set of data has gaps in it.

In this video I combine modelled wind direction with hourly ozone concentrations at Weybourne in the UK 2010-2014. As wind direction results aren't produced as often as hourly ozone concentrations there are some gaps in the data. In order to line up the wind directions with the ozone concentrations I use an INDEX MATCH formula to line up the dates and times.

=INDEX(wind data, MATCH(date & time, dates & times, 0))
