BUNNY HOP MADE EASY - Anyone Can Do This!!

In this video we teach you what we believe is the easiest way to bunny hop, in fact we believe ANYONE at ANY age can do this.

In this video I'm joined by Chase Willie & Matt Cordova as we deconstruct the bunny hop to help you learn how to do it like a pro!

This fundamental skill is all about timing as opposed to brute force, we go step by step to explain the mechanics of how you can simplify your hops & make them easier than ever, whether you're just getting started or looking to refine your technique this video will get you up to speed in no time. This tutorial is in fact so simple our new friend Aiden who is 9 years old implemented the steps & did a bunny hop FIRST TRY - not even kidding! It was so rad.

Although we demonstrate this skill on BMX bikes it is fundamentally the same on all platforms of bicycle including but not limited to dirt jumper, hardtail trail bike and full suspension trail bike - this same bunny hop method works ALL bikes.

Watch the video, head to a flat parking lot & give it a try! Don't hesitate to reach out with questions.

Remember; don't get discouraged - a well executed bunny hop is the result of a lot of practice & repetition. Dialing in this skill will make riding endlessly more JoyFULL.

Happy Hopping,

-Mike

This is a cool video.

I must say, I was disappointed when Bogusky moved on from the channel. I stayed on. More in hope rather than belief that better things will follow. It is about generating the right vibe, Bogusky and Co worked on it and you guys are beginning to form it. We just need time see more of well thought out content. Don’t be afraid to bring out your individual perspectives and personalities. Be yourselves - and let us get to know you. Good luck!

I've always been a trail shredder and never really concentrated on learning the hop. I became interested in increasing my skills and have seen a GAZILLION tutorials, all mostly conflicting. Alex and Lee's was the BEST description I found, but now this update ROCKS! Making the concept straight forward and understandable really makes a difference. I have yet to conquer the hop, but at least I know which way to learn. THANKS GUYS!!

Best tutorial for the Bunny hop in Youtube. I see a lot of mistakes which I learn from other Youtube tutorials. This will save me from wrist injuries which I had already and also to learn in a correct way before is too late to give up on BMX. #bunnyhoptutorial #bunnyhopbmx #bunnyhop

I noticed at 12:42 that Chase’s hands naturally bounce at the moment he pulls in to his thighs. Made me realise a good transition from pulling IN to pushing OUT isn’t about a mechanical, overly thought “Pull, THEN Push”, it’s about a vigorous pull that organically bounces off the thighs, fully transferring its momentum into the push without interruption.

Thanks for the great video!

Hands down the best bunny hop instruction out there. Applied your lessen and was doing legit and consistent small bunny hops after just 20 minutes.

I'm 38 and i've been riding MTB for years and i've never even attempted to bunny hop. Thanks to this no nonsense, simplistic approach i'm gonna be trying it out this week, so thanks for that. Also, great job teaching that kid, nice to see!

Great tutorial guys. I've learned a great deal from your easy-to-follow instruction. Other bike tutorials I've watched have not been as easy to follow as yours. I am an old dog trying to learn new tricks and you are successfully teaching me. Thank you.

I’m 35 and I remember being a kid having the hardest time learning the bunny hop, it was really annoying because my cousin who was a few years older was very good at Bmx so he would make fun of me be he still helped me, I love Bmx because of him and have been away from it since I was like 19 and I want to get back into it thinking about buying a kink switch or Sunday street sweeper, and I know I will need to relearn the fundamentals, I just want to get back to some mediocre shredding, also RIP my Cousin Chris he took his own life about 12 years ago and I miss him everyday and I know getting back into Bmx would make me feel like he’s right next to me again

Just came across this video today. Gave the standing jumps a trial run in the house with my wife and one of my sons Later I was out on a short ride with the same son (8yo), came across a flat spot on the road, gave it a shot and was able to bunny hop 4 or 5 time. I didn’t get a ton of air but I’ve never been able to before and my son was super impressed. Thanks!

Most effective tutorial yet, I've been asking my friends to teach me how to bunny hop forever.
Until now that I have clicked on this video, I've been always bunny hopping whenever I go cycling.
Thanks for teaching us, Joy of Bike

My husband plans to give his feedback once he's done it on a couple more different bikes, but I just had to tell you. Man, it went great as the way to do it on his bmx. He could already do a bh, hadn't really done one on his bmx yet, bam he got it. I didn't yet, on my street trials bike, but he used your approach to help me figure out. Thanks!

You guys just solved my issue. I was trying to pull the front end up and then push out.
I didn’t realize you keep the front end level and then push out. Makes MUCH more sense now after seeing it.
THANKS GUYS!!

This is a great video! Simple and concise! As a middle-age dude who is getting in to I need step-by-step. This is exactly that. Great job with the kids as well!

Guys great video. The way you broke it down will really help me ( someone who is 57 and has absolutely struggled with BH). Dry run without a bike getting form and timing sorted is just what I need. Can’t wait to start practicing Keep it up first class job.

This video is excellent! Good tips, details, breaking it down AND fun and engaging. I’ve never learned these details. I especially liked the break down of the mechanics of the plyometric jump and how/where the arms should be/push forward. And adding Aiden into the mix was really kind and inclusive. Thank you for your videos. I’ve just now found your channel.
