always control the boat slow and think 3 motions ahead. great job with anticipating the boats momentum. its all about small corrections.

Nice to have two engines for sure. Our trawler was a single screw but I made good use of prop walk in docking and undocking depending on the situation. We never had a boat with two engines.

I was taught a very simple principle for docking a boat - forget about the parallel parking method - forget about the stern - approach at an angle bow first - get close and immediately get a bowline attached to the bollard. Then you are in complete control- pop the outer engine into reverse and the stern will gracefully and safely pull into the jetty.

I love driving and though it may be a sin to some I pride myself on driving safely and smoothly and within the rules of the road. I would therefore love to do this as a job. I'm 54 and I hope it's not too late :D
