Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet 2009 - 2013 review - CarBuyer

Mercedes' E-Class Cabriolet is not just stylish and comfortable -- it's one of the few four-seat drop-tops that's as comfortable to drive with the roof down as it is with it closed. Thank the innovative 'Aircap' for that. It's a cleverly designed wind deflector that keeps draughts at bay in the E-Class Cabriolet's cabin. Mercedes-Benz bucked the growing trend for folding hardtops and instead used a more traditional fabric roof. That has some advantages, not least that the boot can offer more space with the roof stowed. Seven engines and two trim levels give buyers plenty of choice, including diesel options - the E-Class Cabriolet is the first open-topped Mercedes-Benz to be offered with diesel engines.

Why the heck does everyone hate the foot operated parking brake? Its actually more practical and easier to use than a hand or button operated one.

Boot cradle, folds back when the roof is up, so gives full space. I have this car in White, it is a pleasure and real head turner! Love it 😍

For the boot space - you can push the cabin that holds the rooftop to go up and give extra boot space (full boot space) - an advantage over hard top convertibles.

Nice review, but not quite accurate about the boot space. The plastic cradle thingy that houses the soft top does shoves back and up to give better room when the top is in the up position.

I’ve got a 2010 model (Australia). Had it for 3 years and just love it.
I keep thinking of getting another one but I just love this one too much. Says a lot.
That said, like all older cars and especially lux brands, get a good mechanic and maintain it properly. Then repairs don’t hurt too much.
(And my sunnies case DOES fit in the door pocket! Haha).

That case for the roof mechanism actually moves up out of the way if you push it up, giving you more room. And the aircap really works as i have an E class cabriolet, got to say its a fantastic car to own.

In the booth you can push the plastic thing for more hight in the booth when the roof is up.

Mat when the roof is up you can move the roof storer in the boot out of the way it increases boot space you push it and it moves upwards

Just put a deposit on a facelift 2013 white amg sport with 44000 miles. I think the older shapes are even better than the newest shape (2017 onwards) . I can't wait to get the car:)
