You can actually fit that bag easily. First set the separator in the "roof closed" upper position. Second put the bag under it. Third set it in "roof down" and you can close the roof with bag in place. How come in a prodessional car review this is not recognized ???

I purchased one of these a few months ago (not in those horrible colours with black/red though). That suitcase would have fit if she had moved the thing in the boot with the arrow displayed (which is used if the roof is lowered) shown at 3:58. You can move it out the way when the roof is up and the boot is then huge.

The plastic part in the boot for a roof goes up when the roof is up.
You said that the E class has small boot, yet it has the largest boot in its class, with roof up and down.
Since when is cloth roof a minus? Hard top adds a lot of weight, so car gets too firm, it starts to squeek a lot under 100.000km on almost every car, and it takes up a lot more boot space. And the car with a cloth roof looks twice as elegant, than that with a hard top roof.

You're right, but in a car like this you want the roof down as often as possible! Without the divider in place, the roof cannot be lowered.

It's sad when a great car is reviewed by someone who hasn't all the facts about the vehicle.  At the end of the review we hear about the "shallow" boot (trunk) space, which is only the case when the boot partition is in the down position to accept the folded convertible roof.  When the partition is placed in the up position, I can fit several week-long suitcases in the boot of my E-Class Cabriolet.

I find the foot brake charming, not dated and the boot space can be drastically improved with the hood up

Saw two of these in the last week parked curbside in NYC. (One Black cloth over black metallic over black leather, the other Brown cloth over Colomite brown metallic over brown leather against the black interior walls, which was beautiful.) The front end is very wedge-like, the body sculpting is aggressive and also slightly restrained - standing still it looks fast and low. Beautiful car.

Good car and looks good in black gives a real elegant look. Better exterior design than the new ones.

Must say the red ragtop shows well - better than I'd have thought. In profile you really see the nice curve of the roof continuing into the curve of the taillight. I would like to see the rear seat use, though. If one of our premium convertibles could make a truly usable rear seat, they'd have an edge in that department. Because sometimes you like to bring along a couple of friends, and not pull the driver's seat up to the wheel.

You can make room for your suitcase when you push forward plastic bracket to the ceiling in the trunk when the roof is up

I'm guessing that when she was trying to shove that suitcase in the boot, she didn't realise that (when the roof is up) you can push up that bit that was lower down where the roof rests, to make the boot more roomy...

Thanks for the review. Am thinking of getting one of these. And now it's 2022, something new around 2013 will be more in my price bracket 🙂. Useful tip on going for the 350 diesel and which spec. All in all a handy video so it gets a 👍from me.
