After this I would never go back to Similac. Even after the recall is over or even formulas that are not on the recall list. It's horrible that parents can't find options for the kids that are covered because of an assistance program but there's always another options. I personally would use breast milk, Enfamil enspire and or happy family Organics formula

My daughter was on similac Alementum powder all her formula 13 cans were under the recall code. I have wic the day of the recall they took the recalled cans n reissued me new checks to go look for formula. Couldn’t find anything anywhere. I found ready to feed Similac Alimentum at two stores had to purchase out of my own pocket because Wic didn’t cover premade. After a week I contacted wic again stating I couldn’t keep affording the pre made on my own so I asked them to cover it they gave me a hard time stating they wanted to change the powder brand to Enfamil for 30 days and then back to Similac Alimentum powdered I said absolutely not she had problems just switching from the powder to the pre made I wasn’t about to mess with her system more. After a hard time they approved what I wanted.

Families, please be careful with any of those formulas (recalled or not). and I pray all who are affected recover from this. Any powdered form of milk (even outside of formula) can contain bacterial components. Get in the habit of making your child milk in advance by getting some 24 oz bottles (I use 3 bottles for my 7month old), measuring the milk, HEAT the water to at least 110 to 120 F and mix the solution up; be careful to hold the lid or ensure it is tightly on while you shake it. Wait until it is close to room temp 80 to 85 F give or take before refrigerating the solution. This should kill any bacterial components that may be underline in the container. This was my first concern the day the doctor instructed us to go to a powdered based formula. You should keep "on the fly " bottle making to an emergency basis and trust God. This is not something I came up with but from a video that address this problem that is happening now. Keep all components clean and sterile that the baby uses at all times. The liquid form is good to go because the factory heats the water in the making of it.

This is the one thing that's supposed to be good for them referring to baby the one thing that's supposed to be good for them well I'm sorry but there's other options breastmilk is ultimately the best and you can get nutrition from other places. Is like the only nutrition that's not true there's other things you can do other than formula especially a child of that age. And this is supposed to be good and safe and not hurting them formula has always had metals and some type of dangerous ingredient or material even before this
