Imitation is definitely not a form of flattery especially when the gut discernment is not a feeling of flattery but creepiness. And just because a quote sounds good doesn't mean it's true. Jacob imitated Esau and stole his entire birth right...there's nothing flattering about someone copying you who dislikes you at the same time.

From my experience those who imitate you tend to be extremely envious of you, they will sabotage you when they get the chance. When I was in primary school I had a ‘friend’ does her hair like mine, buy the same keychain, ‘accidentally’ stepped on my new shoes many times in a day, “accidentally “ poured paint all over my new dress.. took my role as the host for an event, pushed me down the stairs …. They are really evil . It’s serious matter. I use to believe it’s a flattery but I learnt you got to protect yourself from those people

Inspiration and imitation is usually flattery. What is not flattering is having a friend who changes every life decision to mirror yours and then also behaves in competitive, resentful and bizarre ways. It’s anxiety inducing and more along the lines of having someone in your life who isn’t happy for you and not a true friend. From personal experience, if the copying is in multiple areas, they’re not being authentic in their support or they constantly try to one up you, don’t remain or get close to them. They have a deeper issue that they need to address and it’s unhealthy to be the person they feel so compelled to mirror.

people who copy destroy my uniqueness and now i feel i have to get rid of all my clothes and i want to get new ones no one else has but it such a struggle now, ugghhhh

Most of us who get copied are very creative/innovative, my advice is I would show less of your mysteries in front of people that don’t have their own & to be around people who think more primal and tend to have a lot of ideas for themselves

Imitation can be a form of flattery.... Except when it's coming from someone who obviously hates on you, gossips about you, and is really malicious socially. It's creepy to then see them turn around and imitate me and one of the ladies I'm talking about is like.... 70 or something.

I gave a speech recently. And someone I know literally copied and keeps repeating the same exact things I said and passing it off as if it came from him. I was a bit creeped out when the person kept repeating it in front of others when I was the one who said it first.

Envy is downwards... ( Remember third" of the angelic beings that Lucifer dragged with Him )

This is a serious matter... you must pray deliverance prayers, protection prayers and ask God for wisdom, discernment ... and focus on your postion in Christ ...
On another note Why did Saul wanted to kill David ????
And if we go to the Book of Acts there are several stories of people possessed with spirits imitating or attempting to copy the disciples through spirits of divination.

This is a Spirit of Envy /Jealous
...I think as Christians we should and cannot neglect such ....
But analyse what is its purpose...
Which is to drain your energy; shift your focus, distract you, depress you and eventually kill you by destroying or rob you of your Identity and assignment.

Fill yourself with the presence of God daily ...focus on your Identity in Christ and revisit the story of Cain and Abel and also the Maggi that travelled from afar to meet the Lord there's a lot in there.🤔
Satan aspire the place of God ...and that cost him eternity.
Ultimatly they will propell you to your purpose and to become the best version of yourself.

While this can be annoying I think there are several ways to look at this—- One of which Is that this person has a need they are trying to meet but in a negative way- they need to find the love of God and the appropriate love for themselves and walk in it—, they need help is finding who they are. They are not necessarily trying to be bad. Pray earnestly for them and for yourself because if you’re angry at them then your heart needs working on too— I know what this is like and that’s how I deal with it. Be Christlike in whatever way you choose to deal with it and remember to treat the other person exactly how you would want to be treated were you in their place. God is watching to see how you will deal with it. Blessings
