My biggest issue is I get so low that I don't have the mental capacities to know I'm low or what to do.

I've been low a couple times, rather rare unless I mispredict my insulin by 2-4 units (I'm a type 1) or sometimes at work I just go low. I almost feel like you slowly are losing control, and will get shaky and start getting a cold sweat but I've always known I'm low and been able to help myself. Theres only ever been one day where I don't recall going low and lost coherence but I've never passed out or been unable to do what you ask of me. I always found it strange how I can sit there with a blood sugar less than 50 mg/dl and usually have a conversation that I fully remember while I hear of people passing out when that low. I have noticed with a CGM that when I go low and am in low levels of activity while sleeping, my body does something to try and raise the sugar level which often keeps me going for an hour or two past when my sugar level initially drops.
