This film is a deeply achingly beautiful masterpiece. It's so terribly underappreciated. The soundtrack is sublime.

My best friend and I watched this movie and since always wondered about the mystery of death and what possibly lies beyond. Unfortunately, that is only for him to know now. He has passed from us, into "Xibalba". May your soul find rest and glory, Christian.

Three minutes in and I'm tearing up despite having heard the soundtrack over and over and over again.

I found the music before the movie, however I have loved clint's work for close to twenty years and that's crazy. The movie brought me to tears and will always help me think of my love my wife she is here but someday we hope she will be gone before me. I can live in the misery of being alone. I will always live my life for my love. This music centers me, and I find great peace with it

I think the is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. It uplifts me.
I had this song played at my wedding while we were waiting for my fiancee to come out (not when she walked down the aisle). This song will always hold such a special place in my heart.

He composed something that one could literally listen to for hours on end and still want to listen for longer. Wonder why modern music can't accomplish this.

This melody to me reminds me of loss.
For me the loss of a parent. My dad died in mid 2016 and I watched as he withered away for over a year. His cancer was like the tide upon a rock wall. With each passing day, a little more was taken. What was once a pillar of strength, vitality and masculinity was left emaciated to the point of a living skeleton. I could only watch in horror as faded away. Powerless and unable to stand against a terrible foe I could not defeat. Treatment failed, and he passed in a hospital bed. When I received the phone call, my heat sank, and I died inside. When I arrived at the hospital there was an awful silence more terrible than a scream.
When I returned home I screamed at the top of my lungs. TAKE ME INSTEAD!

People who lose someone they love suffer it a thousand times and more. Never knowing when a flood of emotion may strike releasing a wave of tears and sadness.

My father was my rock, he taught me so much, and he passed when I was 30. He was robbed of the life could have had left, I still feel it in the pit of my stomach, a song, a movie, a book that reminds me of him. I haven't been able to listen to the music he so enjoyed, or read the books he recommended to me. Once I start I have to stop because it makes me miss him so much I start to weep. I hate it. I hate the fact that he was taken. I am left sad, bitter, angry and empty for the fact that he was taken so soon. 64 was too soon. Too soon for me. I know it sounds selfish, but it was too soon. Now every year I play my bagpipes for him on his birthday.

The Fountain is by far the most beautiful masterpiece I have ever came across. It has gotten me through the death of my Father and then my Mother. A perfect depiction & rationalization of death not being the end. I could listen to this soundtrack all day❤

i have seen this film (movie in US i think) a long time ago....the music is always so nice, so beautiful....i played oboe when i was young....now with ears on little keyboard i play sometimes music from great bands (a-ha, Björk, Thé Cure, DMode, etc) or S.Gainsbourg....and of course music from movies.... And well if you play THIS on keyboard mode piano or '' violon, violoncelle '' (cello i think in english)....it's so emotional that you can say FINISH IT !! ⭐✨❇🍀
