💪Demonstrating Integration with Weightlifting

Inspired by a conversation with a former student of mine in the gym just hours before, here we'll show how calculus can be applied to weightlifting, and hopefully strengthen your intuition on what applying an integral "feels like."

Torque? Work?
This sounds like engineering!

The music from the Legend of Zelda made this video over the top amazing! Well done!

Absolutely brilliant! I'll be using elements of this in my lessons.

Please explain to me why nowadays are programmars and mathematicions so ripped.

”...over some amount of... ...something” GREAT! That is what integration is about! By this subtle hesitation you open the gates to Stieltjes and Lebesgue. Great! 👍

This video is really interesting and insightful in showing how a mathematician thinks. I really want to pursue a Maths degree, this has only inspired me to push harder in order to get better at Maths.

Very cool video and solid idea to combine math and fitness! You have all the pieces but can you take it a step further? Why should people care about torque and integrals in fitness? Does your explanation really give people a better understanding of integrals? I think you're on to something good but it's not fully expressed yet. Congrats though on really good stuff already.

not sure if ull c dis but I was struggling to find my IA topic. I luv to do weightlifting n learn a lot abt fitness n stuff, but I couldn't think of any ways how calculus can be applied into weightlifting. ur vid is a life-saver for me. ik wat to do for my math ia n I rlly appreciate u making dis vid. just one question tho wat does de unit actually mean like how do u explain foot-lbs?

Very impressive... but can you teach variational calculus with varial kickflip?

oops, wrong channel.

I wish we could derive these equations in general for all muscle groups/workout types.

It would go quite Abit of way into planning.
I think I might do that later. General physics equations for our bodies.

Just replace y*(Xfinal-Xinitial) by integral of y dx from Xinitial to Xfinal.

Xfinal-Xinitial is Delta x
Y* Delta x->y*dx

Same way Delta y/ Delta x goes to dy/dx.

Derivatives is just better division.
Integral are just better multiplication
