I have an Intel Core Duo P8600 MacBook that is 13 years old, it actually has an extegrated graphics card. I run Linux Fedora on it to make it compatible with Java 17 and Minecraft 1.18.1 and with the help of Sodium, Lithium, etc. it runs at identical framerate but with 9 chunks instead of 3.

I had an old laptop from 2010 with an Intel core i3 350m and a Mobility Radeon HD 5145 (and 4GB DDR3 SDRAM + 500 GB SATA) It had issues running the new versions with Optifine while 1.12.2 without Optifine on native 1600x900 resolution did a great job with it's 120-200 average FPS

Try running it on Linux.
It has much better performance.
My fps went from 60 to 180 on 1.18.
Thats with 4gb Ram and a dual core Cpu.

I dont really think minecraft is that intensive. I can get my minecraft at 150 fps with 8gb of ddr3 1600 mhz ram, and a 1.8ghz processor (integrated graphics.)
