How to make Applesauce Cake | Easy Applesauce Cake recipe from scratch w/applesauce snack cups

Hello everyone!
My Applesauce Cake is a family favorite. The recipe is simple to make and tastes delicious. I hope you make a loaf or 2 for your family.
Enjoy!!

Applesauce Cake
3- No Sugar Added or Unsweetened Applesauce snack cups
1/2 C. Softened Salted or Unsalted Butter (1 stick)
1/2 C. Light Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Granulated Sugar
1 Egg at Room Temperature
*2 C. Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (if batter is very thin, add 1-2 T. more flour)
1 t. Baking Soda
1/2 t. Baking Powder
1/2 t. Salt
1 t. Cinnamon
1/2 t. Nutmeg
1/2 t. Cloves
Optional:
1 C. Raisins
OR
1 C. Chopped Pecans
Bake @350 degrees in a 9x5 Greased Loaf Pan for 50-60 minutes or until tester comes out clean, do not overbake.
Garnish with powder sugar.

My grandmother from western Maryland made an applesauce cake, but hers had nuts, candied fruit, and muscat raisins, almost like a fruit cake. Everyone in the family would get a half of a cake wrapped in plastic wrap and foil on the outside. I have the recipe, but haven’t made it. I do miss it at Christmas.
