If you have Shingle Oak growing on your property this video will help you identify the tree, and I will mill this on the HM-126 to show how good this material can be. Thanks for Watching

I didn't imagine my odds were good of finding a video about milling a shingle oak, but here it is! We had several very old shingle oaks blow down on our place in what must have been a storm with winds much stronger than I was aware of until I found these huge old trees down. They made quite a mess on the back of our place, taking some smaller trees down with them and ripping limbs off others. Long, straight, mature oak worth milling is a bit of a rarity on our place, and it seemed a shame to cut the logs up for firewood. We did take limbs off that were big enough to need hours of work on the splitter for next year's firewood. I have a chainsaw mill I haven't even used yet, and have already thought about moving up to a bandsaw mill and browsed the Woodland mills. Most of what I'd be milling is honey locust, along with some walnut and shingle oaks. Are you pretty happy with your mill? Thanks for your upload and cheers from Missouri!
