Kotoha found out that douma kills and devours his follower, and she ran away from temple and while saying to inosuke that "inosuke im sorry your mother was stupid", at last she threw inosuke into river and douma killed her and devoured her while she was looking at inosuke from the cliff. The answer is Kotoha Hashibira who was killed by his master douma.

*Information : Many say he enjoyed her company and that they loved each other and he is inosuke’s stepfather.
But The author revealed that Douma didn't feel any human emotions(joy, sadness, anger, enjoyment, fear, loneliness, love etc) until his death in the Official Fanbook2
So he canonically never felt anything towards Kotoha and Inosuke.

In the official fanbook2, it is written that he saved her and protected her within his cult, as his usual part of good deeds.
He never thought of her as special.

In the manga, Kanao said that changes in a human's emotions are revealed in their complexion, and that the same is true for demons because they have blood flowing through their bodies like humans. He never actually blushed or turned pale at Kotoha, so he felt nothing for her.
He wasn't really sweet, he was just pretending to be sweet.

Also in the manga, he never adopted or raised inosuke. He just watched her taking care of Inosuke. He never touched them like in the fan arts.
He wasn't interested in Inosuke.
when he reunited with inosuke, he didnt hesitate to kill inosuke even though he knew inosuke was her son.
he only showed interest in inosuke's skills as an enemy to fight him.

And Douma's last name isn't Hashibira.
The author never revealed that his last name.
Hashibira is the last name of Inosuke's biological father.

I think he had some special place in his heart for extremely weak and broken people....he helped that daki and her brother when they were about to die...he kinda never hurted inouske mom till she started to run away due to her terrible past....he even actually protected her from the people trying to get her.
