Gobinday Mukunday / Snatam Kaur

The mantra necessary for everyone. Clearing the subconscious mind creates a feeling of order and calm in the conscious mind. - E.g. When you have guests over to your house, they might not know as they sit in the living room that the basement is like an episode of Hoarders, but you do. And if you cleaned it out, you'd feel better about it. The energy of the entire house would shift. -
There are several practices in Kundalini yoga that help clear the subconscious mind. So Darshan Chakra Kriya is an outstanding meditation for this effect. But if you want to add a mantra to your regimen and take out the trash while you chant, there is a mantra for that.
"Gobinday Mukanday", also called the Guru Gaitri mantra, is a powerful tool to clear the subconscious mind and according to Yogi Bhajan, master of Kundalini yoga, clear deep-seated blocks. He also said this mantra could balance the hemispheres of the brain and bring patience and compassion to the listener.
The words are easy enough to pick up and refer to different aspects of the Divine.
"Gobinday:Sustainer, Mukunday:Liberator, Udaray:Enlgihtener, Apaaray:Infinite, Hariang:Destroyer, Kariang:Creator, Nirnamay:Nameless, Akaamay:Desireless"
Chanting this mantra for 11 minutes will give the subconscious a shower and you'll end up feeling cleaner and lighter. Do this regularly, as trash continues to build up, and it may take awhile to clean out the room.
Always, begin classes after chanting this mantra with my disciples (to training leaders).
