Love these--we've been making roast pumpkin seeds since I was a little kid and they're just so much better than the ones you buy in the store.

I totally made my first ever batch today using your method and they turned out awesome! I used butter instead of olive oil and it gave them a really nice buttery flavor! Thanks for the video! It worked perfectly!

this brings back memories. my mom used to do this when it was close to halloween. she would always use either cinnamon or season salt when she did this. when i got older and i did this i tried doing a hot and spicy version and it turned out great.

I enjoy the ads..it's a triple bonus. You get so see two videos for one and the creator gets a tiny incentive to keep making more videos. Great video, thank you or using a tripod.

FYI, the last recipe I looked at said to melt 4T and add desired spices and stir butter mixture and seeds together in a bowl. Never made the, but my friends always used LAWRY'S seasoning, having a hard time finding a recipe with LAWRY'S so I know how much to use. Anyone know? TY.

That's cool I was just messing with ya! Anyways thanks for the boiling tip....I just dried mine out and popped them in the oven...and on my tip...I just mixed all my seeds in a bowl with EVOO and seasonings so they were all coated and poured the bowl in the pan! My flavor preference is....Seasoned salt and Chili Powder....Ohh... and they got ate up the fist day! Cheers!

Am I missing something? Where and how does he get the seed out of the hull?

How would the result of the seeds differ if i were NOT to boil them?

I know you said to use light olive oil, but all I have is extra virgin olive oil, and plain vegetable oil. Will either of those cook my pumpkin seeds well, or will it burn?

the shells are great, they add "crunch" but it's an acquired taste -soaking them in salt water at least overnight helps open them up a little more easily. however they don't "pop" open like pistachios or the like. soaking them will also infuse the salt into the shell. i like to use butter instead of evoo but it's the roaster's choice lol. make them like this and they'll be better than from a store. the ones from the store. if you grind up the salt and cover the seeds they'll taste like in store
