You are WRONG about DEADLOCK

Deadlock is the new Sentinel Agent in Valorant and this video explains why she is a good Agent. Everyone else seems to think she is a bad Agent.

She's a nightmare for instalock duelists who just rush everywhere

But overall I find her inconsistent

I came so early, there's no one to get me out of deadlock ult

Something ive learned about Deadlock is her actual role, being to completely STOP hard, aggressive pushes and rotates. The Net forces them to simply slow down and become an easier target, or make a loud sound cue to alert enemies to your location. The Barrier stops pushes entirely, forcing them to either shoot it or rotate out. The Sensor with the Wall is actually pretty good, especially when youre already off-site with the Barrier still active or when you exert a lot of pressure and force a fast rotate they wont expect the Sensor. It might not stun, but it still gives information. The Ult, similar to Fades util, works very well with the rest of her kit. Unlike Fade however, the Ult isnt enabling anything, its the normal util enabling the Ult. And seeing that someone is caught or even hearing the Ult voiceline is enough to make people run away and panic, making them easier to pick off. And if someone decides to free the trapped player, theyre diverting attention away from everything else, effectively making them a sitting duck

I think deadlock is defined like sage as a "blocker", with a wall that phisically blocks enemies, a granade that at least slows them down, but wothout the healer 'baggage' attached to it.

Possible, balanced buffs for Deadlock to make her more playable.
Sonic Sensor - Make it pickable like cypher traps or killjoy abilites.
Barrier Mesh - Fine ability, no need for changes.
Gravnet - (3 possibilities) Make the net removing longer / Make hit enemies stuck on place, until the net is removed / Mark the enemy once after they got hit (like 1 tick of sova dart)
Annihilation - A visible mark on the map, where the ult will hit. It is pretty hard to hit a deadlock ult, it would be a nice qol buff.

My Deadlock Rework Idea:

Couple of reasons why Deadlock is not viable:
1. Staller sentinels in general are weak in comparison to other sub-roles of sentinels. They lack map presence and have one-dimensional abilities.
2. Deadlock doesn't have an ability that is strong enough to compensate for her lack of ability to help with taking map control.
3. She either doesn't offer unique value to a team comp or doesn't excel in any specific area in her gameplay to be able to stand out from other sentinels

GravNet (Signature ability):
- Replace Barrier mesh with Gravnet as her signature ability.
- Change it into a rechargeable ability that recharges every 45 seconds.
- Add a sound cue whenever it successfully ensnares enemies. (works similar to how Skye’s flashes gather info).
- Add noise only whenever ensnared enemies walk or use any movement ability.
- Add a vulnerable effect to any enemies that are currently ensnared. The effect will last right after the net has been removed

***Thought process: The reason for changing gravnet to it being rechargeable is a way for DL to still have an ability for post-plant situations without it being too oppressing by her to have 2 of them at the same time. Adding a sound cue and a vulnerability to gravnet encourages teammates to follow through on a well-placed net which makes her executes on attack much better.***

Barrier Mesh:
- The wall should cost 350 credits
- Add a marker on the ground that shows where the wall will land before throwing it and on that marker shows the general direction of its nodes (visually similar to how kids draw a sun).

Sonic sensor:
- Add an effect called "Tether". Once the sensor is triggered it will quickly shoot wires forward and any enemies caught by the blast will be concussed and automatically be tethered to any object, wall, or even an agent that is parallel to the sensor for 4 seconds. Once tethered, enemies will only be able to move 7 meters away from the tethered spot (works similar to Fade's seize ability) however enemies can shoot that spot to free themselves from the tether. Keep in mind that the object, wall, or agent must be in the AoE of that sensor. If there is nothing parallel to the sensor enemies will just be concussed. Also, the concussion effect doesn't go hand in hand with the tether duration.

- Add a "Rearming mechanic". The sensor will not self-destruct once it has been activated. Once it has detonated the sensor will rearm itself for 25 seconds. While rearming, the sensor is completely exposed, vulnerable, and disabled. Also, DL will be unable to pick that sensor up till it is finished rearming. After it has finished rearming it will work like usual.

***Thought process: The tether effect adds more value to her sensors since concussion effects are a bit weak in this game. However, the mechanic is there to balance the ability to prevent it from being too oppressing for the entry duelist who uses movement ability like Jett. The rearming mechanic adds more power to her ability from enemy teams that are lazy, unattentive, and have poor communication when comes to clearing her sensors***.

Annihilation:
Besides an enemy getting reeled in, enemies also caught in the AoE at the endpoint of her ult where a sphere appears will be concussed for 1.5 seconds.

***Thought process: The reason for this change is to prevent her ult from being too situational. This will enable DL to find more situations of using her ult where she can also punish the enemies' poor positioning.***

People shitting on Harbor's release. Now he's meta. Idk why people judge the agent so early. We just haven't mastered her yet.

I absolutely love playing her on A fracture and B Bind where you can place a sonic sensor under hookah and drop respectively. When the enemies try to get out of drop and hookah, they’re almost guaranteed to make noise, and you can swing off the stun for a greatly advantageous fight. As the video pointed out, Deadlock’s sonic sensors are best positioned somewhere the enemies are highly likely to make noise.

Actually she's such a perfect combination with what i like in general, I've stop playing since months Valorant because I couldn't find the type of unique gameplay like " Master of Anti-Push " such as Wattson in Apex Legends and Symmetra in Overwatch 2, but now I'm so happy to add a new main to my list! ^^

ive been playing deadlock a lot the last couple days and ive absolutely fell in love with her kit, i used to play viper a lot but ive had way better success with deadlock.

the ability to basically completely lock down a site and FORCE an enemy to announce themselves to enter is just insanely useful for getting kills when they try to switch back to watching angles after shooting the barrier/trip

a trick i like to do with the barrier is put it a bit farther out into the site so that way the enemy has to move up to break the nodes then while they shoot the nodes you pop out and tap them.

the stun goes off a lot more then you would assume off the bat, especially if you change up where you put them every couple rounds, theres usually 1 person on the enemy team that will check your last spot and not see it then walk right into the stun.

the only inconsistency ive had is the ult, it seems like its completely random on when it decides to grab someone, ive had it grab people i wasnt even close to hitting and ive had it completely wiff on people in the dead center of it.

though that being said the ult usually is more then 1 kill if used correctly, most people when they get ulted start panicing and begging their team to save them, which then causes their team to peek and try to shoot the cocoon and giving an easy shot to then pop the teammate, and even if the teammate does break the cocoon theres about a .25-.35 sec delay between when the person drops and when they can shoot back, which usually is enough to get the kill on them anyway.

Yeah especially on spilt or bind taking advantage of drops using the censors there considering barely anybody’s slowly drops Zipline when retaking

A strong point deadlock has in defense is her ability to yank the planter from planting and basically secure the spike for the defenders 😂

6:13 "She also seems to be very good against aggressive teams" Yes but every other sentinel expect chamber does a better job at it. Her util is not worth it to pick, if you can have cypher/kj. Sage is not strong atm, but she has more valuable util than deadlock. I would recommend not to pick her, until she gets some slight buffs to every single ability

I swear, Sentinels are always my favorite role to play. Such a wide variety and each with their own uniqueness! Don't get me wrong, all the roles have their own quirks, but with duelists, you're expecting the blinds and speed. With controllers, you're expecting smokes.

With Sentinels, you get such a wide variety of playstyles. Deadlock the slowdown of agressors, Sage the best bodyguard, Cypher the truest info-broker, etc.
Plus, as has been said all around, on a 1v1 against Deadlock specifically, while you can avoid her ult if you're quick and haven't been caught off guard, it still sends a chill down your spine hearing her yell out her signature line, and you're fucked if you do get caught

I think she's the best site anchor aside from a viper ult. She slows every thing down and will almost always buy a lot of time for teammates to rotate.

Been playing her non stop in asc elo. She isn't a sentinel. She is more of a hybrid initiator and sentinel. She works very well as a combo with other sentinels. She is great for slowing the match down but needs support from her team to be effective.

for some reason, I have a love for agents which the community seems to agree sucks at first glance. Post-nerf Chamber, Harbor, Deadlock. Idk why, I just like them

PRX is going to get wrecked on attack against a deadlock

Ive been using barrier mesh as a way to block player pathing to make fights more favorable to you
Like in ascent as some people will path their way to switch but with a wall it funnels them to more favorable fights

Deadlock is a combo between stalling sentinel and execute ruining sentinel, but Is still super inconsistent. The trapas take too long to pop, so the target is dead or already ran away and the nade is just fade sieze, but wors. Give a disscount on the granade (100 - 150, it is not worth the same as a fade sieze) and speed up the traps, maybe wifen the area a bid and she can be good.
