hello guys I'm from South India currently there is a issue going on in our State. Jallikattu or Eruthazhuvuthal is a traditional bull-taming sport which was banned by the Supreme Court of India in 2014 citing animal cruelty. The sport is an annual event where people try to tame and hug the bull and has been a part of traditional celebrations of the four-day harvest festival, Pongal. The state and the central government have been in favour of conducting the event. However, the Supreme Court banned the event after a petition by PETA. If the sport is banned, farmers will be forced to abandon the raising of native livestock, which already stands threatened due to the extensive use of motor pumps, tractors and mechanised agriculture.
