I got some images of geostationary satellites leaving Earth's shadow this weekend, happy to send you the images. The other side of the shadow was below the roofline at that time unfortunately so couldn't measure total eclipse length.

You've inspired me to take up astronomy in my retirement. Luckily I live in a dark skies area, although the weather isn't often ideal. I should start to get aurora views at this time of year as well.
I'm already planning to visit the USA for the next total solar eclipse there. I was in Wyoming for the last one and it was a truly awe inspiring event.

Thanks, Wolfie. I remember doing stuff like this on my dad's 8" Broadhurst Newtonian, using satellite prediction software meticulously keyed in to my trusty Nascom 2.

"We actually have poor knowledge of our knowledge. Everyone knows the Earth is round, but how did we know it was round?
"
It is therefore interesting to ask this question again and to find, for example, original observations as here to answer it, motivated by curiosity as were the ancient astronomers.
So thank you Wolfie for this video, which shows that satisfying our curiosity can also be a fun activity, regardless of the rantings of flatearthers :-)

In case you're wondering why it appears to move down with respect to the geostationary satellites: The BeiDou 3 satellite is on a slightly inclined geosynchronous orbit.
The wikipedia page has a nice animation (I don't know if it's the red or yellow one).
