This is Part 1 of a multi-part (probably three parts!) video series covering all the details of installing a Wilson Electronics WeBoost Drive X RV cell phone booster on my Airstream travel trailer. In this episode, I review the contents of the package and cover some of the choices you can make about the install. The products mentioned in the video are here:

WeBoost Drive X RV Cell Phone Booster:

CB Radio Antenna Mount:

3M VHB Tape (used to mount all components... no screws!)

In the next part of this series, I'll remove my refrigerator in order to make space for routing my cables down from the roof. Then after that I'll show you how I routed the wires inside... and I'll demonstrate the reach of the booster cable itself.

If you're looking for information about whether the booster works: It does! It GREATLY exceeded my expectations. I see big (huge!) improvements in cell phone signal strength, on my last trip going from "No Service" to five bars of LTE with the booster. Friends with other cell providers also reported major improvements in signal.

Journeyman. Thanks you for discussing the TV antenna coax connector on the outside of the airstream. I would like to use that but tell me what kind of adaptor I need. I have no clue. Thanks

If you're curious about how he actually mounts the antenna to the roof and routes the wire inside the RV, check out this video:

mine came with the 12volt hard wire adapter dead out of the box!! (ac power works) a word of "caution" to smaller camper or rv owners!! i cant get it to work on my 18 foot camper. cant get the inside and outside antennas far enough apart. (get flashing red light) then the booster stops this booster has to have the antennas a long ways apart to work! or you get feedback and it shuts down to avoid damage. its useless on small campers, but works great on applications to were you can use the full length of coaxial and spread the antennas way apart.

What’s the name of the cable adapter used to connect the cable to the tv cable port? Rg6 to? I can’t seem to find it. Thanks!

Hey Journeyman, great vids, thanks for all your hard work developing very informative content! I have a question for you... Have you found the WeBoost to be effective at providing a a real boost in signal and thus increasing your internet connection speeds?

My 2018 says “solar ready”. There is a box on the roof with three zamp inputs.
I’m curious if all I have to do is install the panels up there or do I need a controller and a bunch of wiring like you had to do.

Not even sure I need solar but I enjoy learning from YouTube.

I probably will to the cell extend so looking forward to your next video. I watched the one with the guy drilling holes in his roof. Not sure that’s the best answer.

Ok I haven’t seen this video yet but I have some questions. Feel free to refer to one of you videos.

1. Did you use the DC behind the fridge and where did u connect?

2. Thinking about adding a AC outlet above the fridge, tapping off the outlet behind the TV or fridge.

3. Then mounting the internal antenna in the cabinet above fridge and using said outlet for the MIFI or phone with hotspot.

Am I missing anything or have I failed to consider a better alternative to antenna placement?

27 FBQ for reference.

Thanks in advance.
