Maybe in the future I will make it available for free or on a different website, which is why I don't specify the website in my video and just refer to it as a "link". Gracie, I think this is my first time ever comment on yt. I want to point out that your tutorials are just perfect. Your admirable combination of striking mathematical logic, knocking everything down to its core and providing the harmonic context all of this leads to is just a pleasure to watch! I wish 10% of my own musical education had been that good. Not to forget your lovely presentation style, always with a smile… Keep going!

Theory was so intimidating to me, the ego decided it was unnecessary. Consequently, my creativity suffered. Your pedagogical style makes these concepts as simple as Blues Clues. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing how easy it can be to understand the language of music. 🙏🏾

Ms Gracie, you really have a brilliant way to unpack and unwrap these concepts. So many teachers fail to provide these kinds of "keys" to unlock theory, which can be so confusing. For example, your little sidebar on analyzing that V7 totally opens to the door to knowing how to identify any chord quality we see, even the strange and squirrely ones that some charts manage to put up. Simply brilliant!, as huge thanks.

Over the years (trumpet starting in 1952, later guitar) I've spent countless hours haphazardly working out concepts that you explain beautifully in just a few minutes. Thank you.

To a Great Teacher: Dealing with diminished chords, Major 7th's and Dominant 7th's at the IV and V positions is finally clear. Thank you!

This video was the most amazing conceptual thing I think I’ve ever seen. The way you explained it numbering the chords as a way to easily understand. Also, you have an amazing voice.

I often watch your videos for memory reinforcement. I usually understand what you're explaining but it never hurts to hammer it in my brain a little further. And when it's a topic I'm less familiar with I usually come away with a better if not complete understanding. You're the best!

One of the best instructors/musicians on YouTube! Whether it’s music theory, or playing songs. Thanks Gracie, this was very well done! 😎👍🎼

I see why you’re a good teacher. You are very intuitive about guessing where you think people may get confused. Many teachers just plow right through and I think they just assume that people will pick up on everything automatically….Everytime you stopped to clarify something, it was always at a point where I got confused…but importantly, you knew right when to reel it in before you allowed yourself to fall down the rabbithole and go off on an unrelated tangent….bravo…

Dear Gracie
This lesson was very helpful, I understood everything you explain, but now is to put it in my brain.
I always wanted to be able to transpose correctly, could never do it.
You helped me a lot, things got a little bit clearer now
I am gonna listen to this lesson e few more times, and for the first time I think that I will download your sheets beneath, what you recommended so often.
To be able to file everything properly so that I can put it in my brain the right way.
Your way of teaching is very good the best I have ever seen, sometimes you talk a little too fast, but then I just stop the video.
But your voice is crystal clear and beautiful.
And it fits exactly to your face.
Thank you for this lesson.

One of the main aspects that I so dearly love about your videos on music theory, Gracie, is the childlike wonder you bring to the subject, a quality which acts as a portal to a magic realm. Enchanting!

Understanding the language of music really is making it much more enjoyable and fun for me. Things that would throw me off before. Make so much sense as I learn the basic rules. I know there are no rules when it comes to being creative. But it helps to have the basic ingredients in there . Then add in the spices to create your own flavor.

Gracie, I could give you a huge hug!!! I have knowledge of music theory from watching YouTube and playing instruments, but I was still missing pieces to the puzzle. I live near Eastman School of Music and wanted to finally really study music theory, but I didn’t want to take the 101 course since I already know the circle of 5ths etc, because of your wonderful teaching style, the way you go step by step I can now take there entrance exam and go into music theory 102. I love Jazz and this is where you see the numbers and symbols, my piano teacher couldn’t explain this to me 😢 and suggested I take a theory class 😮. After your video I can now go to the piano and play the 2 5 1 progression in every key. This video was like turning on a light in a dark room! Finally I found the lost puzzle piece through your teaching and now I can see the picture! Thank you so much for all these videos, you are so appreciated!
