One of the most common questions in AutoCAD for landscape design is how to draw a curve in AutoCAD. There are a few different ways such as ARC, CIRCLE, ELLIPSE, SPLINE and POLYLINE. See below to use SPINE and POLYLINE
How to use command SPLINE in AutoCAD
The spline command in AutoCAD lets you create a smooth, non-uniform curve by selecting a set of control points. The spline is generated by fitting the points to the points in the drawing. Using this command is simple and allows for interactive curve design. You can create a simple spline by picking a point and then selecting a second point. You can then pick a third point and drag the rubber band line to make the second and third points fit together.
After creating a spline, you can edit its parameters using the SPLINEEDIT command in the Modify Object Spline pull-down menu. You can adjust the tolerance, add more control points, and move the control points. To move a spline, you need to select the spline's control points. If you want to change the shape of a spline, you can click on the Start Tangent vector and click the next control point.
How to use the POLYLINE command in AutoCAD
The polyline command is used to create a single line made from multiple points which allows you to edit a group of lines (including arcs). It is a very useful tool for drawing simple and complex lines in AutoCAD.A polyline is a group of lines, usually arcs, that are connected by a single line segment. These polylines can be modified as a single object, and work with them much more quickly than four individual lines.
Similarly to the Line command, the Polyline command allows you to draw a curve in a different way. It's shape consists of several segments, each of which contains one or more vertices. The point you select must be the same as the endpoint. To close the polyline, you should hit the button, and it will automatically close. Or, you can use the "Close" option to stop the polyline.
To draw a polyline, you must first select a point. Then, select a line from the Home tab. You can click on the first point to get the desired shape. Then, click on the endpoint to start the new point. You can adjust the width by choosing the Halfwidth option as well. If you need to adjust the line's length, you can use the Double-Segmented option.
How to turn Spline to Polyline
The SPLINEEDIT sequence is the command to change spline to polyline. When typed in, the command prompts the user to select the SPLINE. Once selected, a separate dropdown menu appears where you can select convert to POLYLINE.
