My husband and I are moving out of state very soon. My middle son is painting our family home for my birthday. It's been the only home our family has ever known. That's 25 years of memories.
My other two sons are trimming my rose bushes, to create new ones. Because every rose bush i have is from mother's Day. I don't like getting roses that will die. So I always got a rose bush. I started crying when I realized I had to leave them behind. My sons aren't having that. Some of the trimmings are already starting to sprout roots! I didn't even know that was a thing! And my husband, bless him. He's actually going to move 3 very large boulders 1, 300 miles, because they were my best friend's, who passed away. Even though it means an extra trip. I love how my family loves me.

Definitely, I am really glad to hear some useful information regarding on growing a rose bush from a cutting. It is indeed very challenging to me. I heard that these flowers are very easy to grow. Maybe these ideas could really help me a lot!

Thank you ~ I'm sooo grateful that you made this video! I cut back my Grandmother's climbing rose way back, almost to its stump, & I'm afraid it won't grow back. :-/

So, I put some clippings in a bucket of water & because of your video, I now know that it wasn't a bad decision to keep them.
I can take the clippings of my Grandmothers Climbing Rose, & if I'm successful, I can have a few more of her's to plant in her/my garden; then maybe give some as gifts to my siblings for their gardens!

I have a question... How do I know when my clippings/cuttings have roots so I don't kill them with too much water?

Thanks again! Very good video!
~ Peace

Im super excited I just cut some of my rose bush that has the most amazing fragrance and I have them in a bucket of water. Me and my best friend have been wanting to do this but everyone who explained it to us before made it sound a lot harder than it is. If this works you are getting many thumbs up and shares! Thank you for this video!

Thank you so much for posting this. My Grandfather and I have been looking for a way to properly grow roses from a start. After we watched this video we took a clipping from my Lincoln rose and tried using honey like you said. Hopefully we can get another healthy rose out of this clipping.:) thanks.

Thank You for some Tips, Knowledge . I will try to start here soon each style . Cut Flower leaf off and put in water ... also dip in the honey and lil pot. .
I'm here in Denver Colorado, It's getting cool out at nights now . Usually first freeze / snow by Halloween .
So I think I will start here soon inside then come springtime around March by the last snow during springtime usually here when we start the garden , by then the little Rose plants I think should be lil decent size .
But yea, Thank You, I see what happens ;-)

There are only few of the old heirloom variety rose that can root in water. If you try this "experiment" you will need to replace your water daily to keep it clean or else it will die due to bacteria growth. As for in the garden plants, you will need to prepare your soil. Add lots of manure and compost to make it the best growing environment. Plants are living things. They depend on you. Grow annuals flowers from seeds till your garden mature. Cheap beautiful flowers :)
