I love how strong and powerful his voice is! That's a man who has spent his entire life projecting his voice into theatres.

My friend had a crush on Harris. We lived in a small, popular tourist fishing village north of of Boston. One day in July we were sitting together listening to the radio when it was announced that actors Richard Harris and Peter Ustinov (in Boston for “Camelot”) were visiting our picturesque little town for the weekend. My friend went mad, saying we had to go out and look around for them. I thought that would be quite futile, but we put on lipstick, fixed our hair and went out for a walk. Meandering up the street toward the ocean view that was so popular with tourists, with no crowds around us, two men rounding a corner bumped right into us: Harris in tennis sweater and white shorts, Ustinov in his usual suit, smoking a pipe. “Hello, ladies!” Said Harris, reaching out his hand, and pulling my friend close as they both stared deeply into each others’ bright blue eyes. Then the simply moved on, leaving us speechless. We ran away in shock, awe and glee, but turned and went back to the corner where we’d bumped into them. They were gone, but right there, where we four had seen them, lying on the pavement, was a packaged bottle of Chanel No. 5. My friend picked it up and handed it to me. I refused it, saying that She deserved it since Harris was her crush. But she insisted I keep it because her own happiness at staring into his amazing g blue eyes -like her own - was all she had wanted. I still have the bottle - it’s empty -but the experience is embedded in my mind.
