A quick tour aboard the latest from Hanse’s new collaboration with Berret-Racoupeau. This has an appealing modern hull shape, a large cockpit, is easy to manage short-handed and features some good solutions below decks too

So disappointing. Hanse once made fantastic groundbreaking outside the box type of production boats. Then they went public and started chasing beneteaus and charter market! It’s all been downhill since…

If Ikea made boats. Great, for a time, but I can't see that interior lasting more than, say, 10 years in northern europe without serious 'quality' issues. All those sharp edges.. I know it's cool/trendy etc but we have soft edges for a reason...

Hanse. Always stunning exterior and MFI (disappointing) interior.

Engine access looks really poor. Nasty sharp corner on the headling of the aft cabin.

Boat reviews almost all make a huge mistake. They dont Seem to be able to make a reasonable judgement. They are a marketing branch of the boat builders. Tell us what this boat is made for. Probably an ok yacht for charter and day sailing as a private boat. But for anything more serious sailing this is a yoghurt cup. The problem with missing this honesty is it gives the impression this boat can do everything.

So cheap and nasty... I have a 2005 Hanse 411... and whilst it's not a Hallberg Rassy, it stands head and shoulders above this ....

I am so tired of seeing sailboats on flatwater. Please. Can we see these things Sailing or motoring through a rough inlet?Anything can sail in flat water

1:58 - 6 sog at 30 awa on 16/17 aws with flat seas for a 41ft with good-looking sails is a bit on the depressing side of things in my view rather than the "respectable" Toby!

I really like Hanse's design language. I don't like their sharp edged interiors. I went with a Hallberg Rassy 340 because of their well built interiors and solid build quality.

A fewe remarks: i had a Hanse 375 before. That boat was really very well built and was a clear step in quality over others like beneteau, jeanneau, bavaria, dufour. This boat has lost all good points of Hanse. Instead of differentiating themselves with a better build quality, they are now build very very cheap. The wood on the interior is plain ugly and all the sharp edges… second problem with hanse nowadays: on the hanse 375 there was of course an option list. I had it fully specced out for about 30k€ above the base price. But with the base price you had a useable boat. Not anymore now: the option list of Hanse has become extremely long and expensive. The base boat as such is barely useable without adding at least 50k€ of options. And that is the absolute minimum for the boat to be useable. And even then, some of the options are no good: you have to pay extra for 2 extra winches. But these winches are totally impractical since they are placed in front of the clutches. When we sold our Hanse, we bought a Beneteau Oceanis 43. And to be honest: the build quality of the Hanse 375 was way better. But i prefer our actual Beneteau clearly over this boat.

Why is there a winch right in front of the clutches?
.
You could have solved the clutch problem by leaving the halyard on that winch!

I hope you can take the tables in the cockpit down when sailing. Keeping them up makes it awfully difficult toe move to the windward side of the cockpit during a tack so you can continue to be on the higher side of the boat (with the best view), Never mind the fact that they make accessing the winches /sheets on the opposite side of the boat harder to reach.

Thank you for the short but as interesting as ever presentation.

Looks like lots of headroom. I keep wondering why all these boats look the same inside. But, if you look at tours of older boats they look all the same too - just older.

On a different note, if you go to the Captain Q - Yacht Hunter channel he has tours of the lots of older boats in this range, you can see how much more room there is in these new boats and how much more light there is. I don't know if I like the styling of these new boats, but that is a separate issue.

I have a feeling, this boat better in marinas than sailing in the sea. All due respect, I'll take an Azuree 41 on any given day!

Hey Yachting World, I would love to see a review of the Heyman 42, if you ever get the chance. Looks such a lovely boat. Thanks for all the boat tours
